Conditions of entry
For participants from all over the world, less participants from Italy
Art. 1 Kismet, already well known all over the world through GEF- the World Creativity Festival in schools – is now organizing the fourth singing and musical contest for soloists, “sanremoju nior”, to spread and give importance to music and singing among the younger people, putting them in touch with professionals in the sector in an international and multiethnic environment.
“sanremojunior” is also a window for visibility in media both national and international.
Art. 2 Participants between the ages of 6 and 15 from any Country, are allowed to take part in the contest of “sanremoju nior”.
The Participants for the various sections of ages can have their birthday within the 31st of December 2013.
The contest is divided into 2 categories (A and B), each of them subdivided into 3 Sections, that is:
CATEGORY A : Soloist Singers
- Light music, rock, jazz or folk.
A1. From 6 to 9 years old
A2. From 10 to 12 years old
A3. From 13 to 15 years old
The texts can be in Italian, any foreign language or any dialect. In case the language is not Italian or English, it is compulsory to present a text with translation into English.
CATEGORY B: Soloist Musicians
- Light, rock, jazz, folk or classical music (All instruments are allowed)
B1. From 6 to 9 years old
B2. From 10 to 12 years old
B3. From 13 to 15 years old.
Both published and unpublished pieces will be welcome in both contests (A and B).
All the participants are obliged to present for selection one piece that will be the same in all eventual following selections and Final.
Art. 3 SELECTIONS FOR PARTICIPANTS COMING FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD (NOT FROM ITALY)
Participants not from Italy but from other Counties all over the world, have to send their entry forms, CDs / DVDs and all enclosed (see Art.13) directly to “sanremoJunior” – Via Roma, 166 – 18038 Sanremo (Italy).
Among entries, songs and music pieces on CDs or DVDs, arriving from other Countries, (not from Italy), a Jury panel in charge by the Committee of “sanremoJunior” will select the admitted participants to the International Final.
In some Countries (NOT Italy) there can be National selections of “sanremoJunior”. Winners of “Grand prix” in these National selections will automatically be admitted into the International Final in Sanremo Italy. The list of Countries for National selections is on website www.sanremoJunior.it
Art. 4 International Final – Sanremo Italy – Teatro Ariston (live)
Admitted participants to the International Final are:
- The 2 firsts classificated of each Section 1/2/3 in both Categories A and B (see Art.2 ) of the National Final of Italy;
- Each winner of the “Special prize” given by the Committee “sanremoJunior” in the National Final of Italy;
- Admitted participants coming not from Italy but from other Countries, selected by a Jury panel in charge by the Committee of “sanremoJunior ”;
- All winners of the “Grand Prix” in Countries (not Italy) with National selections;
In the International Final in Sanremo at Teatro Ariston the finalists of both, Category A (Soloist Singers) and Category B (soloist musicians), will perform live with Orchestra.
Art. 5 ENTRY FEES - PARTICIPANTS COMING FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD (NOT FROM ITALY)
Selection
€ 90 net - entry fees per persona including:
- Audition with a Jury panel in charge by the Committee of “sanremoJunior” selecting songs and music pieces on CDs or DVDs, arriving from participants from all over the world.
International Final - Teatro Ariston – Sanremo Italy
€ 100 net - entry fees per persona including:
- Welcome-sevice.
- Teatro Ariston with audio and lighting equipment
- Rehearsals with the Orchestra.
- Accompaniment by the Orchestra during the performance in the International Final
- SIAE – copyright fees for the piece in competition
Art. 6 All the participants will receive:
1) “sanremoJunior ” pass
2) Badge and badgeholder
3) “sanremoJunior ” Cap
Art. 7 Both published and unpublished pieces will be welcome in the contest.
All the participants are obliged to present for selection one piece that will be the same in all eventual following selections and final.
Each piece will last maximum 3 minutes and will be submitted as a recording in one of the following formats: CD or DVD. They must be accompanied by a completed registration form and by a copy of the receipt as proof of payment for the entrance fee for each participant submitted (see art. 13).
The following details must be clearly written or printed on a sticker on the cover of the CD or DVD: full name, title of the piece, genre, author, duration and clearly stating if it is an original piece or an arrangement, whether or not it was ever performed, etc.
Art. 8 No choreographies or special lighting will be included, except for those which might be chosen by the organizers (their decision will be final) but that will have no bearing on the overall Panel decision. Also choirs cannot be included.
Art. 9 During the selections and the International Final in Sanremo a panel of expert judges by the Committee of “sanremoJunior ”will select the prize winners. The valuation will be based not only on the usual technical and artistic criteria, (intonation, colour, performing technique, expression, musicality and interpretation), but also on potential emerging both from the pieces performed and their performance.
The Panel’s decisions are final.
Art. 10 The contestants participating in the International Final in Sanremo Italy, have to provide the orchestra with their song (arrangement) in full score. The organizing committee will ask for it later on.
Each finalist must provide all equipment needed to perform with, of the musical piece selected by the Panel, the sheet music for the orchestra conductor (full score) and also for the orchestra (score) as will be requested.
Rehearsals with Orchestra will take place just before the Contest “The International Final in Sanremo”, dates and time will be communicated at a later stage.
Art. 11 During the days of the Final in Sanremo, the Committee of sanremojunior can ask all of the participants to perform (not in competition) on a stage or stages around in Sanremo. Technical specifications later on.
Art. 12 The Organization will provide professional audio and lighting equipment (technical specifications will be communicated at a later stage).
Art. 13 Registration
Forward the entry form to “sanremojunior” c/o Kismet, Via Roma 166 -18038 SANREMO - Italy by the 31st of January 2013 including following:
1) 1 piece only recorded on DVD or CD with a musical base and, for category A no trace of vocals such as double voices or choirs and for category B no vocal or instrumental sound which may be deemed to be a melody;
1) The text for the song in category A can be in Italian and or in any foreign language or any dialect. In case the language is not Italian or English, it is compulsory to present a text with translation into English or Italian.
3) Entry form filled in and signed by parents or tutor.
4) Copy of the participant’s identity-card.
5) 3 pass photos.
6) Copy of the parents or the tutors identity-cards.
7) Curriculum in Italian or English, max. 10 lines about the artist.
8) Proof of payment of the entrance fee.
9) Privacy form – all forms about the privacy rules, filled in and signed.
10) TV – permission to broadcast filming of participants, filled in and signed.
Art. 14 The Organization is not responsible for possible postal mistakes or delays in any stage of the contest.
Art. 15 Confirmation to all participants admitted to the International Final will be sent out 45 days before the event.
The participants admitted to the competition Final should send confirmation of their participation in writing (by fax or e-mail) within 35 days before the competition dates including all what is asked for in sanremoJunior’s confirm letter (booking forms to be filled in etc.)
Any participant not providing the items requested will be excluded.

No other sort of payment is possible.
Art. 16 The participants must be punctual on the day, at the place and time established and communicated previously by the organization or they will be excluded from the competition with no reimbursement.
Art. 17 The texts in competition must not contain expressions which could be found offensive to common decency, and/or the State, Institutions, the Church, or any Religion.
Art. 18 During the performance, attitudes, clothes, movement or behaviour which could offend common decency, are not allowed. Moreover, it is compulsory for the participants to behave correctly according to the rules of public spirit during all stages of the contest and they must respect people and public property. In the case of any incorrect behaviour, the participant will be immediately disqualified.
Art. 19 All entrants taking part in the competition Final in Sanremo will undertake to pay for its own board and lodgings. For reasons of organization and event management, finalists and accompanying adults, or anyone spending nights in Sanremo while taking part in sanremoju nior, will need to book through the organization of sanremoju nior choosing accommodation from the enclosed price list and packages in order to gain accreditation and be able to take part in the competition Final.
Each participant admitted to the Final will be sent a booking-form by the booking organization outlining modes of payment.
Considering the rush for bookings to the Final, both from Italy and abroad, early bookings are highly recommended.
Art. 20 Prize list – Sanremo, International Final
- ''Grand Prix'' for the winning soloist singer in Category A
- ''Grand Prix'' for the winning soloist musician in Category B
The “Grand Prix” consists of an object of prestige.
The other prizes are personalized crystal plates.
- Personalised Crystal plate to the winner of the “Special prize” given by the Committee of “sanremoJunior ”;
- Personalised Crystal plates “sanremoJunior ” to the winners of each section in both categories A and B;
- Diploma “sanremoJunior ” to the second and third classified in each section in both categories A and B;
- “sanremoJunior ” finalist diploma to every others.
The Jury reserves the right - according to its irreversible and final judgement - to assign further prizes than those already stated.
The Organization may also offer the finalists prizes and gadget donated by possible sponsors.
Art. 21 Kismet reserves the right to record and/or film and/or broadcast the event in its entirety or in part, using any medium (print, photography, radio, television, audio-visual, internet, etc.) and to accompany the event with one or more promotion or publicity, without owing any payments to anyone or to any participants.
Art. 22 Any changes to the competition Final in Sanremo, which might occur due to technical or administrative reasons will be notified forthwith to the interested parties.
Art. 23 All works received will remain the property of Kismet and will be published or used in other shows at Kismet’s discretion. No money will be owed to anyone or to any participant.
Art. 24 All printed matter and logos are protected by copyright; therefore any unauthorized use is forbidden. Anyone trying to use any of them without authorization will be duly prosecuted.
Art. 25 sanremojunior, the Organizing Committee, the promoting association and the company providing technical support will not accept any liability for personal or material injuries or accidents occurring while travelling or during the Festival.
Art. 26 Anyone taking part in the event is expected to have read and understood the conditions set by these regulations and to accept them unconditionally. Participation to the event also implies that each participant explicitly agrees to allow Kismet to access its archives and process all personal data provided, according to the Act D.L. n. 196 del 30/6/2003, and admits knowledge of his/her rights as set of the above mentioned Act of Parliament.
Art. 27 In case of any controversy, the competent court to deal with this matter will be the San Remo Courts of Law.
